What to expect at a postnatal consultation:

  • Intake assessment — Discussion of your medical history, birth, and baby’s health
  • Breast assessment
  • Oral assessment of the baby
  • Pre and post feeding weight check for baby
  • Feeding observation
  • Education on different nursing positions
  • Education on latching and what to watch out for
  • Flange fitting and pump education if necessary
  • Summary of discussion
  • Referrals as needed

As an endorsed midwife, I can provide Medicare rebates up until the end of the sixth week post birth. After 7 weeks, private health funds may offer some rebate depending on the fund and level of cover.

Important notes:

  • Follow-up consultations can only be requested after the initial consultation.
  • Telehealth is offered by appointment only.
  • In-home consultations are available across Port Willunga, Aldinga, Willunga, Seaford, and nearby suburbs. Travel is included within 20km of Port Willunga; beyond 20km, travel is charged at the current Australian Tax Office per-kilometre rate.
  • Free distant support via SMS and email for up to 1 week after a consultation (will respond as soon as possible).
  • Your booking is confirmed upon receipt of the full payment.
  • A call-out on a weekend or public holiday will attract an additional fee of $60.

No referral is necessary for appointments, and consults are not dependent on place of delivery. Any mum, from any location can access our support.
